Giving victims a voice: read more about how Paula Knight got involved with the issue of child exploitation

About MOM

“I want to be her voice.  I want her to heal.”

We want to raise funds to develop the best possible, in fact the best in the world support and treatment for victims of online child exploitation.  Working with the amazing frontline individuals in law enforcement, children’s services and healthcare we have the opportunity to have an incredible impact …

Today, children and youth who are victims of Internet sexual exploitation are currently under-identified and under-served in our community. The needs of these victims are unique and at present there are no medical or mental health services that are uniquely tailored to the needs of this population of children, youth and their families.  Producing a standardized assessment and treatment program for children sexually exploited online will greatly improve the standard of care and recovery for victims and their families. YOU CAN HELP.

The Suspected Child Abuse & Neglect (SCAN) Program
at The Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids) Toronto, Ontario

About SCAN
The Suspected Child Abuse & Neglect (SCAN) Program at Sick Kids is a multidisciplinary team that offers care, support, assessment and treatment to children and youth who have experienced physical, sexual, and emotional abuse or neglect, as well as their families. The SCAN program provides more than 1,500 consultations to various child protection agencies, law enforcement and other clinicians each year.

The Mothers Online Movement is supporting SCAN in the creation of a centre of excellence for clinical research and treatment focused on improving the standard of care for these victims and their families.
