Deborah Vittie
Director

Deborah Vittie is a 29 year veteran of the Toronto Police Service. She has worked in the downtown core as a uniformed primary response and community patrol officer, although her career has specialized in an investigative capacity. Deborah is an accredited sexual assault, child abuse, and domestic violence investigator, and major case manager, who has been the lead investigator on several of the most sensitive and complex cases at the divisional level and during her four year tenure at the Toronto Police Service Sex Crimes Unit. Additionally, Deborah was a member of two high profile Homicide Task Forces involving child abductions and several gun violence occurrences, including the Boxing Day Shooting in downtown Toronto 2005.

Deborah is currently assigned to the Community Mobilization Unit as the Service’s Domestic Violence Coordinator.  She is actively engaged with victims’ advocacy groups, and has been directly involved in the advancement of several collaborative, police/community initiatives.  She is a regular presenter and speaker at a variety of community and police forums on the topic of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. Deborah is committed to the ongoing protection and continued safety of women and children, who represent the most vulnerable members of our society. Deborah is the mother of two children and she is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Arts, Justice Studies Programs at Guelph Humber University.
